These are guidelines after bringing your kitten home. Every kitten is different, so use this as a reference only.

Common Changes

  • Eating less — Temporary appetite loss from environmental change is natural. Wet food can help.
  • Mild sneezing / soft stool — Can occur as a stress response. Usually settles within 2-3 days.
  • Nighttime crying — Due to anxiety in a new environment. They'll adjust in a few days. Covering the cage with a towel helps.
  • Stabilizing around day 3 — Most kittens see appetite and bowel movements stabilize around day 3.

When to Consult Us Right Away

Please contact us promptly if:

  • Not eating or drinking for over 24 hours
  • Repeated vomiting
  • Bloody stool or lethargy
  • Heavy breathing
